KT's IPTV base exceeds 3 mln

South Korean communications provider KT ended 2011 with 3.076 million IPTV subscribers, up from 2.085 million in December 2010. KT added 82,000 new IPTV subscribers in December. The company also had 221,000 Wi-Fi customers, a number which has been steadily dropping during the year. In December 2010 KT had 266,000 Wi-Fi subscribers. The number of broadband subscribers stood at 7.823 million for the end of the year, up from 7.424 million at end-2010 and up from 7.792 million in November. KT also ended 2011 with 19.159 million telephony customers, down from 19.359 million a year earlier. The total comprises 15.929 million PSTN customers, down from 16.635 million in December 2010, and 3.230 million VoIP customers, up from 2.724 million a year earlier.
