LG to expand global availability of Optimus G in Q1
LG Electronics plans to expand the global availability of its Optimus G smartphone in the first quarter. The LTE smartphone is already available in the US, Canada, Korea and Japan, and LG plans to launch the device in 50 countries across Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa in the January-March period. The company is set to kick off the launch in Singapore later this month with mobile operator StarHub. According to Yonhap news agency, LG also confirmed plans to release the Optimus G Pro, a follow-up model that may launch in Korea as early as the first quarter.

Telstra to exclusively sell LG Optimus G

LG Electronics Australia will bring the Optimus G exclusively to Telstra customers in March. The Optimus G features Qualcomm's 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, a 4.7-inch screen, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB built-in storage, a 13-megapixel autofocus camera, a 2100mAh battery, and supports LTE. Pricing and availability will be announced closer to the launch.

LG beats Apple with 13% share in US smartphone market

LG Electronics has regained its spot as number two in the US handset market in December 2012, on brisk sales of its latest smartphones, reports The Yonhap News Agency citing Counterpoint Research.
