
LG to expand global availability of Optimus G in Q1

LG Electronics plans to expand the global availability of its Optimus G smartphone in the first quarter. The LTE smartphone is already available in the US, Canada, Korea and Japan, and LG plans to launch the device in 50 countries across Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa in the January-March period. The company is set to kick off the launch in Singapore later this month with mobile operator StarHub. According to Yonhap news agency, LG also confirmed plans to release the Optimus G Pro, a follow-up model that may launch in Korea as early as the first quarter.
