Melita extends Wi-Fi trial in Paceville

Wednesday 22 February 2012 | 14:11 CET | News
Maltese operator Melita is extending its Wi-Fi trial in Paceville until the end of April. The service is available at no extra cost to all smartphone users, irrespective of what operator they are subscribed to. The free Wi-Fi period is being extended to enable Melita gather more information on usage patterns as well as more client feedback on user experience. The service leverages the strength of the nationwide availability of Melita's FibrePower broadband internet technology. Earlier this year, Melita announced that more than 2,000 hours of internet were used in the first two weeks of the free Wi-Fi trials in Paceville. The free Wi-Fi service is currently available in the main streets of Paceville covering an area of almost half a square kilometre. Melita's Wi-Fi trial project is underway with the collaboration of Motorola, Belair and Aptilo.
