Meo launches online TV service

Portugual Telecom's pay-TV service Meo has launched a trial online TV service. According to Vera Pinto Pereira, director of the TV business at Portugal Telecom, the service should be fully launched later this year. Meo@PC will join the company's IPTV, satellite and mobile platforms. In the pilot phase, Meo custoemrs and other consumers are invited to apply to the beta service by 22 February. Meo will select 100 applicants who will receive free access for six weeks from 1 March to four channels - SIC Noticias, SIC K, RTPN and Eurosport - and 100 movies in the video store.
