Friday 29 July 2011 | 09:16 CET | News
Mobile infrastructure LTE equipment market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 81 percent over the next five years, and reach USD 8 billion by 2015, according to a study by Dell'Oro Group. Dell'Oro Group forecasts picocell revenues will reach 9 percent of total LTE eNode B revenues during the same period. WCDMA revenues are expected to drive the industry in the forecast period and represent more than 70 percent of all the revenues in 2015. The overall mobile infrastructure market is expected to grow at a 4 percent CAGR between 2010 and 2015. More operators are now focused on investigating and trialing best systems and approaches to complement their macro networks so they could increase capacity and performance in high-utilisation areas. Although the macro LTE network will carry the majority of the traffic through 2015, vendors will start recognising pico eNode B revenues.
