Portugal's telecommunications regulator Anacom has published data which show that 62.1 percent of DTT decoders on the market are priced at less than EUR 30, while 32.7 percent cost between EUR 30 and EUR 50. In the third quarter of 2011, the average price of DTT boxes dropped 18 percent on the second quarter to around EUR 37. DTT decoder sales were up 29 percent in the period from 30 June to 30 September. Although sales were 'on track', Anacom has warned that they are still 'far below the figure required for a smooth migration'. The analogue signal is due to be switched off in six weeks' time (12 January) in the coastal area of Portugal; on 22 March in the autonomous regions; and on 26 April in the remaining territory.
