Telefonica has launched a competition called the Movistar Real Challenge to give 40 Movistar customers from all over the world the opportunity to play a game on the pitch of Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium in the presence of several first-team players. The game will be held on 12 March 2014 and the competition is open to all Movistar customers in Spain, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Uruguay, Panama, Nicaragua and Ecuador. The company has described the competition as a pioneering initiative in the field of sports and corporate sponsorship due to its complexity and global scope.

To have a chance of being one of the chosen 40 players, Movistar customers need to sign up online and take part in various challenges via social networks. Users gain points depending on the extent of their viral activity.
