Netia in exclusive talks on TK Telekom acquisition - report
Polish operator Netia has negotiation exclusivity for purchase of TK Telekom, reports PAP, referring to two independent market sources. The exclusivity is meant to have been awarded to Netia at the end of March. Andrzej Kondracki, director for strategy, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions at Netia, refused to comment. As a standard, exclusivity is awarded for 3-4 weeks. Earlier, Hawe group signalled an interest in the purchase of TK Telekom. The privatised operator has a telecommunications network of nearly 30,000 kilometres of lines, connecting more than 300 municipalities.

Hawe lifts Q1 revenues 29 percent

Polish infrastructure provider Hawe said first quarter sales revenues rose to PLN 63.241 million in the first quarter of 2015 from PLN 48.954 million a year earlier. EBITDA slipped slightly to PLN 11.846 million from PLN 11.953 million and net profit fell to PLN 3.608 million from PLN 6.679 million. Revenues from the main operating segments, namely the provision of telecommunications services, and network design and construction, amounted to PLN 20.929 million and PLN 41.902 million respectively.

Netia acquires TK Telekom

Polish operator Netia signed a preliminary agreement on 08 May to acquire 100 percent of the shares in TK Telekom from Polish railway operator PKP Group. The transaction will expand Netia's infrastructure footprint and will strengthen the company's market position in the B2B segment. Netia will pay PLN 221 million for the acquisition of TK Telekom. The transaction will be financed via available credit lines.

TK Telekom trade unions urge employment guarantees

Trade unions of TK Telekom have negotiated with the company's board on a package of employee guarantees, reported Gazeta Wyborcza (GW). Piotr Cizkowicz, vice-chairman at PKP, told rpkom.pl that the Tripartite Commission concluded several years ago that PKP should not be obliged to sign any such pact before its privatisation. Signing the pact is currently not a condition of the sale of TK Telekom, so the trade unions initiated the negotiations.

Netia spokesman leaves for Envelo

Karol Wieczorek, a long-time employee of the press office of Netia, is leaving the company at the end of March. According to Rpkom.pl, he will move to Envelo, part of Polish Post dealing with construction of new tools and image building of the former monopoly. He came to Netia together with virtual operator Tele2 Polska, whom he represented in contacts with media for six years (2003-2009). His departure follows that of Malgorzata Babik, also a spokesman of the operator, who left the company in 2014.

MCI Group sells stake in Netia

MCI Management, a fund founded by Tomasz Czechowicz, is going to sell a stake in Netia through an indirect subsidiary. MCI told the stock exchange that its unit will sell a 7.75 percent stake in Netia to a fund associated with Zbigniew Jakubas, no later than 15 April. The seller is the legal successor to the company Navicorp Trust Polska, namely MCI Venture Projects X SKA. Hawe's FY revenues up 90%

Polish operator Hawe recorded a net profit of PLN 29.40 million and EBITDA of PLN 54.36 million in 2014. Net cash-flow from operations reached PLN 48.46 million, which was PLN 3.62 million more than in 2013. Thanks to the implementation of big infrastructure projects, revenues increased by 90 percent to PLN 332.73 million. The group recorded positive financial results in each of its segments. Netia makes management changes as Sawicki departs early

Adam Sawicki has brought forward his resignation from his position as Netia president and member of the management board to the end of March, from the end of July. Netia's supervisory board has appointed Paweł Szymanski, management board member and Chief Finance Officer (CFO), as president of the management board, effective 01 April.

PKP orders phones from Integrated Solutions, Polkomtel

Orange Poland and Polkomtel will provide over 14,550 mobile phones to railway companies belonging to the group PKP, reports Rpkom.pl. PKP Energetyka, operating on behalf of PKP group companies (including PKP, PKP Cargo, PKP PLK, PKP Informatyka and TK Telekom), chose the bid submitted by Polkomtel and Integrated Solutions, a subsidiary of Orange Poland, in a tender process. The order amounts to PLN 7.68 million. The tender process was divided into eight parts, and two of them were cancelled.

TK Telekom unions wants guarantees, planning strike

TK Telekom unions are fighting for a package of guarantees and planing a strike, reports Rpkom.pl. The board of TK Telekom set 6 February as the deadline for applications under the Voluntary Retirement Programme. TK Telekom will provide the leased lines services IP VPN Administrative and IP VPN Technological to Energetyka (a company from the group PKP), reports Rpkom.pl. IP VPN Administrative includes connection of headquarters, branches and plants of the customer and IP VPN Technological remote control of traction lines and power facilities. The amount of the three-year contract is PLN 30.04 million plus VAT.
