Nimbuzz loses Skype support
Monday 25 October 2010 | 11:35 CET |
News
Mobile messaging services provider Nimbuzz is dropping support for Skype from 31 October. This follows a request from Skype to end the service, Nimbuzz announced. According to the company, Skype's decision "seems to be part of a strategy to disconnect all open third party support". To keep customers on board, Nimbuzz is offering 15 percent bonus credit on all top-ups for its NimbuzzOut calling service. The offer is valid until the end of November. Skype said Nimbuzz was using its software in ways which it was not designed for, in a breach of its API Terms of Use and End User Licence Agreement. Talks to rectify the situation were unsuccessful.
