Nokia confirms Siilasmaa as new chairman

Nokia has confirmed the nomination of Risto Siilasmaa as its new chairman. Current chairman and former CEO Jorma Ollila, as well as board members Bengt Holmstrom and Per Karlsson, will step down at the annual shareholders meeting in early May. The remaining eight board members will continue, and three new members will be added: Bruce Brown, CTO at Procter & Gamble; Marten Mickos, CEO of Eucalyptus Systems; and Elizabeth Nelson, an independent corporate advisor. Marjorie Scardino was proposed as vice chairman of the board. Siilasmaa is the founder and chairman of internet security group F-Secure as well as chairman of Finnish operator Elisa. He has already sat on Nokia's board since 2008.
