Nokia planning just one new Symbian phone - report

Monday 6 February 2012 | 10:42 CET | News
Nokia is planning just one new Symbian device due to the sharp drop in demand for the phones, The Register reports. Although Nokia Belle updates will continue to ship to existing Symbian devices, only one new model – a successor to the N8 – will reach the market, the site reported without naming its sources. Nokia warned already last month that Symbian sales had slowed much faster than expected. It no longer expects to sell another 150 million of the devices, as forecast a year ago when it adopted the Windows platform for its smartphones.
