NTT East, West to lower fibre optic fees

The two regional units of Japan's Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) will lower fees for fibre customers in single-family homes. NTT East and NTT West will cut prices by around 30 percent to JPY 3,600 for a two-year contract. Furthermore, apartment customers, who now pay between JPY 3,000 and 5,000 will pay a flat monthly rate of around JPY 2,800 on two-year contracts, The Nikkei reports. NTT East and NTT West expect a combined net increase of about 1.3 million fibre subscribers this fiscal year, compared with around 1.5 million in fiscal 2011, as more and more internet users choose mobile
