O2 Germany to launch UMTS for consumers on 1 July
O2 Germany will launch UMTS services for private customers on 1 July with Nokia 7600 UMTS phone and UMTS/GPRS PC card. The company has revamped its mobile portal O2 Active and the O2 Active tariffs. Customers can choose between three tariffs O2 Active 50 for EUR 14.95 per month with 50 call minutes, O2 Active 100 for EUR 24.95 per month with 100 call minutes and O2 Active 250 for EUR 44.95 per month with 250 call minutes. Each extra minute costs EUR 0.39 and SMS sending EUR 0.19. For the use of the UMTS/GPRS data card O2 has three O2 Active Data tariffs. Data Pack 10 for EUR 11.60 per month including 10 MB, Data Pack 50 including 50 MB for EUR 28 per month and Data Pack 150 for EUR 58 per month including 150 MB. Each extra MB costs EUR 1.91.
