Orange France will not match Free Mobile prices - CEO

Orange France will never match the prices charged by Free Mobile as Orange offers security, reliability and innovation, France Telecom-Orange CEO Stephane Richard told Le Journal du Dimanche, citing as an example his company's future 4G services. Lower prices often means less investment and poorer service, he added. Although Orange did cut the price of its Sosh-branded service that can only be managed online two days after Free Mobile's launch, Richard was referring to its mainstay subscription plans, Origami and Open. He also dismissed Free Mobile founder Xavier Niel's statement that French mobile operators have been taking advantage of consumers with their pricing.
