Monday 17 December 2012 | 17:28 CET | News
Orange Romania's customers who have an Apple iPhone 5 or Apple iPad Mini tablet will be able to access the operator's recently launched LTE network from the first months of 2013, writes local paper Ziarul Financiar citing CTO Madalina Suceveanu. In the beginning of December, Orange Romania launched LTE mobile internet services in the central and northern area of Bucharest, the metropolitan area of northern Bucharest, holiday resorts in the Prahova Valley, in the Bran-Moieciu area and in Poiana Brasov. Initially, the service is available on modems and tablets.

On the occasion of launching LTE, Orange released a special LTE offer that includes unlimited traffic and connection equipment at promotional prices. Customers can choose from 4 two-year subscriptions, namely 'Colibri 15', 'Colibri 25', 'Colibri 25 Special' or 'Colibri 35' and receive unlimited traffic at LTE speeds for 6 months. When leaving an area covered by LTE, Orange customers get connected to the 3G / H + data network.

Orange Romania's main rival Vodafone Romania launched its first LTE offer on 20 November.
