News
Malaysian Wimax services provider Packet One Networks (P1) has signed a ten-year transmission and access agreement with Telekom Malaysia. Under the agreement, P1 will be allowed to use Telekom Malaysia's high-speed broadband (HSBB) network for a product offering that will be launched in the first quarter of next year, The Star reports citing P1 chief executive officer Michael Lai. The new offer, which will combine Wimax and fibre services, may include IPTV and video-on-demand services. The agreement will give P1 access to 1.3 million homes passed by the HSBB network by end-2012. Meanwhile, Telekom Malaysia's own high-speed offering, UniFi, has reached over 170,000 installations.
