Pakistan plans 3G auction on 29 March

Pakistan will hold the auction for 3G mobile licences on 29 March. The reserve price for the auction is set at USD 210 million, Reuters reports citing the chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Mohammed Yaseen. The regulator expects ten to fifteen potential investors in the initial bidding rounds. PTA's auction time line, published on its website, also shows a planned WLL auction on 16 March and a licence previously held by now defunct company Instaphone will be auctioned on 26 March.
