PC sales in Brazil up 12 percent in 2011 - research

PC sales in Brazil totaled 15.4 million units in 2011, up 12 percent over 2010, according to data published February 16 by research group IDC. The result consolidates the country's third position in the global PC market, behind China and the US. According to IDC, 55 percent of sales were notebooks and netbooks and 45 percent were desktops. Total sales in Q4 2011 reached 4.2 million, up 10 percent over the same period in 2010. Sales in the domestic/home segment were up 20 percent, while the corporate segment registered a growth of 10 percent.
