Phase3 Telecom extends fibre optic network to 3 countries

Nigerian infrastructure provider Phase3 Telecoms said it has concluded its plans to extend its aerial fibre optic network to Ghana, the Ivory Coast and Senegal. The company has already commenced connecting its fibre optic network in the Republic of Benin, Togo and Niger Republic. Head of Corporate Administration and Marketing Strategy Mark Chiazor said that Phase3 has a strategic partnership with the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) to deploy a fibre optic network. He said the company had secured the right of way from Communaute Electrique du Benin (CEB) to use the high-voltage electric power lines in Benin and Togo to deploy optical fibre within the two countries.
