Private equity firms eye France Telecom shares in EE

Friday 16 November 2012 | 10:04 CET | News
France Telecom has received interest from private equity companies looking to acquire a minority stake in EE, France Telecom's 50/50 UK JV with Deutsche Telekom. In an interview with Bloomberg, France Telecom CEO Stephane Richard said that the company had not yet made a final decision on the future of EE, and could decide instead to go for an IPO of its shares. He said that both France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom wanted to keep control of EE, but added that it might be willing to open EE's capital to a minority shareholder or sell shares through an IPO.
