News
The Bangladesh telecommunications regulator has submitted a draft policy for the licence renewal of four mobile operators to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. The licences of Grameenphone, Banlalink, Robi, and Citycell are set to end in November in 2011. Telecommunications minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju has said the government will finalise an industry-friendly policy after talks with the operators, The Financial Express reports. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is proposing that the term for the new licences be fifteen years and the licence renewal fee has been set according to the income per customer for the operators.
