Rostelecom launches fibre link to Crimea
Russian national operator Rostelecom has completed the deployment and launched services on the fibre-optic backbone link to the city of Kerch in the Crimea region. The line was deployed on the sea bottom across the Kerch straight. The length of the backbone, including the sub-sea section, totals 46 kilometres, and the capacity is 110 Gbps. Capacity can be expanded significantly in the future.
