Rovi loses EPG patents appeal against Ziggo

Digital entertainment products provider Rovi has lost its appeal against an earlier court ruling in favour of Dutch cable operator Ziggo. The Hague court rejected the claim that Ziggo infringed on Rovi patents. The court said the Rovi patents in question did not meet the necessary innovation requirements needed to be subject to Dutch law.
