Serbia starts tender for 3 licences in 800 MHz band
Serbia's Regulatory Telecommunications Agency (Ratel) has decided to hold a tender for licences in the 791-821/832-862 MHz bands. The licences will be offered on a technology-neutral basis, each valid for 10 years and renewable for another five years. The starting price for each of the three licences on offer will be EUR 17.5 million. Potential bidders must have at least 2 million mobile telephony users and achieved mobile telephony revenues of at least EUR 160 million in 2014.

Serbia's mobile operators launched the first 4G services in the country earlier this year, after obtaining new licences for the 1,800 MHz band. Opening up the 800 MHz band to LTE was made possible by the recent shutdown of analogue broadcasting in the country.
