Wednesday 10 February 2010 | 12:26 CET |
News
French operator SFR has launched the second edition of its "SFR Jeunes Talents Developpeurs" initiative with an application development contest for Palm webOS. The move is part of a partnership that will see SFR be the first operator to sell Palm's new Pre and Pixi mobile phones in France. Developers have until 11 April to register and post the applications at www.sfrjtd.fr. The competition's aim is to develop and enrich Palm webOS applications for the francophone general public and professionals. Representatives from the two companies and specialists in web development, design and the mobile app market will judge submissions on the basis of their innovation, originality and capacity to simplify people's daily lives. The five winners will be supported in the development of their application and will share EUR 75,000 of prize money, with EUR 30,000 for first place, EUR 20,000 for second, EUR 15,000 for third, EUR 7,000 for fourth and EUR 3,000 for fifth. Another ten apps will be submitted to a vote on the night of the award ceremony to choose the public's favourite.
