Singtel launches all-in-one m-payments platform

Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) has introduced a new version of its mobile payments app dubbed 'Singtel Dash'. The launch of the upgraded Singtel Dash service comes in conjunction with the launch of the Singtel Transit NFC SIM. Singtel Dash is an all-in-one mobile payments platform, offering secure transit payments and top-ups, in-store and online retail payments, as well as local and overseas money transfers. All customers in Singapore can access the Singtel Dash platform for their payments needs, regardless of mobile operator or device.

Singtel says the Singtel Transit NFC SIM transforms NFC phones into ez-link cards. Via the Singtel Dash app, customers can check and top up their ez-link balances on the go.

To mark the launch of the Singtel Transit NFC SIM and the new Singtel Dash, Singtel has partnered with Samsung to offer free rides on buses, MRT, LRT and taxis until 31 May. The offer is exclusively available for Singtel Dash customers who register for the Singtel Transit NFC SIM on selected Samsung phones. All Dash customers will also receive a special Dash $1 Deals near MRT stations and bus interchanges at all Singtel retail shops, 7-Eleven, Cheers and Watsons outlets island-wide, until 31 May.

In addition to its new transit payment and top-up, the Singtel Dash app has introduced several new features, such as Top-up from any bank account, Send money overseas, and Deals and rewards.

Customers can now top-up their Singtel Dash balance via any bank account. Customers can also send money to their friends and family in Indonesia, Philippines, India and China when they sign up for the remittance service. Customers can access the latest deals and rewards on the app and can be notified if there is a promotion near them.

The Singtel Dash platform will also welcome Prime Taxis to its taxi network with a progressive rollout starting today. Customers no longer need to enter the taxi number in order to complete the payment.

The Singtel Transit NFC SIM is now available at all Singtel retail stores. For a limited period, the usual SGD 5 EZ-Link registration fee will also be waived. New and existing Dash customers can download the new Singtel Dash app for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
