Skype creates Emerging Opportunities division

Skype has created a new division, called Emerging Opportunities. The new unit will be responsible for Skype's partnerships in the consumer electronics space and with silicon chip manufacturers. The team will also continue Skype's relationships with TV manufacturers, including Panasonic, Samsung and Sony, as well as take on a number of incubation projects. Skype has appointed Jonathan Christensen as vice-president to head the Emerging Opportunities division.
