Slovenia's Agency for Communications Networks and Services (Akos) has cancelled a public auction for the allocation of radio frequencies in the 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz bands for the provision of public communications services. The news was published in the Official Gazette. Within the prescribed deadline, the regulator received two bids, namely from Telekom Slovenije and Telemach.
In the process, the Akos found that there is a likelihood that the rule that "for the public auction to be carried out, at least two bidders must participate" can be interpreted differently. In order to avoid any other interpretation, the regulator decided to annul the invitation to tender and published a new public invitation, setting a deadline of 8 August for new bids.
