T-Mobile Hungary has launched a LTE mobile internet service in the capital Budapest, the first such service in Hungary according to the operator. The service initially covers most parts of ten of Budapest's districts or 40 percent of its population and is accessible using a new LTE package offering 40GB per month and a free Huawei E398 modem with a two-year agreement. Dubbed Net & Roll 4G, the package is available at a monthly fee of HUF 9,000 during a promotion that lasts until the end of March. After the end of the promotion, the package costs HUF 11,990 per month. Over-the-limit traffic is not charged extra, but speeds are reduced. An add-on offering 3GB can supplement the subscription in case end-users need more data. The Net & Roll 4G package is part of the Net & Roll product line launched on 1 August which also includes two HSPA+ mobile internet tariff packages, M and L, offering nominal speeds of 21 Mbps and 16 Mbps and 26GB traffic per month. The launch of LTE comes after the completion of a three-month network testing, in which over a hundred retail, SME and large corporate customers and employees participated. The development of T-Mobile's LTE network is underway intensively and according to plans. The network operated in certain parts of Budapest districts 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12 and 13 in October 2011. By today, it also covers already the larger parts of districts 2, 11 and 14. The service provider will expand coverage to the whole area of Budapest in 2012.
