Taiwan announces floor price for 4G spectrum

The National Communications Commission (NCC) has announced the floor price for the second round of 4G spectrum bidding, with the total amount pegged at TWD 14.4 billion, The China Post reports. The list price is for the spectrum between 2.5 and 2.6 GHz. The NCC will accept applications until 4 September.

There will be various rounds of bidding to compete for six licenses. The starting price is TWD 3.5 billion for the D1 license, TWD 3.7 billion for the D2 license, TWD 3.7 billion for D3, TWD 1.9 billion for D4, TWD 900 million for D5, and TWD 700 million for D6. The NCC plans to issue the licenses by year-end.

Taiwan gets 4 bids for 2.6GHz spectrum license

Taiwan's National Communications Commission (NCC) has received applications from four telecoms interested in bidding for 2.6 GHz spectrum, Taipei Times reports. The 2.5GHz and 2.6GHz tender is scheduled for launch in October. Taiwan Mobile to bid for 2500MHz-2600MHz spectrum

Taiwan Mobile's board of directors has decide that the operator will participate in the 2500 MHz-2600 MHz spectrum auction to be held in October. On 16 July, Taiwan's National Communications Commission announced the amendments to the Regulations of Mobile Broadband Business and the rules for 2500MHz-2600MHz spectrum auction. The auction is scheduled for mid-to-late October this year.

Taiwan's fixed line base declined to 18.72 million lines in service at 30 June from 18.75 million at end-May. Taiwan had 11.96 million fixed-line subscribers at end-June, down from 11.98 million in May.
