Tata Teleservices awards 3G contract to Nokia Siemens

News
Tata Teleservices ( TTSL) has awarded a contract to Nokia Siemens Networks for rolling out its 3G network. The network, based on WCDMA 3G and including HSPA+, will allow TTSL to offer mobile broadband with the frequency licences it won in May. Nokia Siemens Networks will provide its LTE-ready Flexi Multiradio Base Stations, network implementation and managed services as well as its NetAct network management system to monitor, manage and optimise the 3G/HSPA+ network, and supply other operational support systems. Nokia Siemens Networks said it can rapidly deliver 3G in India, thanks to its in-country 3G manufacturing facility at Chennai and its Global Network Solutions centres located in Noida and Chennai. The company has already set up 3G test labs in India, trained more than 3,200 India-based 3G technology experts and carried out site surveys for 3G network deployments.
