TDF has 84.7% share of DTT infrastructure market - study

French mast operator and digital TV transmission services provider TDF had an 84.7 percent share of the infrastructure market and 71.5 percent share of DTT transmission spectrum in the second quarter, versus 85.9 percent and 75.4 percent, respectively, in the first quarter, according to telecommunications regulator Arcep. A year earlier, in the second quarter of 2010, TDF's market shares were 84.8 percent and 73.6 percent. TDF's smaller competitors in France include TowerCast, Onecast and Itas TIM. France progressively opened up its TV transmission to competition, putting former monopoly TDF in competition with other operators.
