Technicolor selects Quantenna technology for home gateways

French STB maker Technicolor has integrated Quantenna Communications' Wi-Fi 5GHz 4x4 MIMO technology into its enhanced set top boxes and access gateways. Technicolor plans to incorporate Quantenna technology into its VDSL home gateways, a Wi-Fi access point, HD DVRs and Media Servers, as well as within Technicolor's Media Gateway platform. Equipped with this technology, Technicolor's new products will eliminate the interruptions or quality degradations that can occur during HD video playback. Tests conducted by Technicolor have shown that the Quantenna technology offers IP packet losses of less than one in 100 million.
