Paris transport authority RATP's telecom subsidiary, Telcite, has connected its network to that of French national infrastructure operator Covage at Bures sur Yvette. Telcite's ISP and operator clients can now deliver fast broadband services businesses and local authorities in the county of Essonne, where many high-tech facilities are located, including Alcatel's research centre in Nozay and the Data IV data centre. Telcite is accessible at 400 points of presence mainly along RATP's metro, tramway and commuter train lines. It operates 1,600 km of passive fibre networks. Covage runs 15 communications networks, mostly for local authorities, which carry the services of around 70 ISPs and operators.
