German cable network operator Tele Columbus plans to launch a new triple-play package with Sky TV from March, onlinekosten.de reports. The move was announced by CEO Dietmar Schickel at the Euroforum conference. This will include the DigitalTV Basic TV package with 10 HD channels, 6 Mbps internet flat-rate and phone flat-rate for the German fixed-line network with two lines. In addition, it will offer Tele Columbus customers access to 'Sky Welt' (Sky World) and an additional Sky package of their choice from films, sports and Bundesliga football. This triple-play package will be available for EUR 39.99 per month until 31 March, with a minimum contract of 12 months. Customers can rent an HD receiver for EUR 4.99 per month or buy one for EUR 119.90. At the Euroforum conference, Schickel also outlined further innovations planned by Tele Columbus in 2011. These include a video-on-demand service, plus a mobile phone offering by end-2011.
