Telekom Deutschland unveils rural (V)DSL deals

Telekom Deutschland has signed an agreement with Bemuehungen (North Rhine Westphalia), Nordwestuckermarkt, Ketzin/Havel (Brandenburg and Feldberger Seenlandschaft (Mecklenburg Vorpommern) to deploy a DSL network. The network in Bemuehungen will be finished before the end of 2012 offering 6 Mbps for alls households and 50 Mbps for 40 percent of those households. The other networks will be completed by August 2012 and will offer maximum download speeds of up to 16 Mbps. The operator also signed an agreement with Groedersby, Oersberg and Rabenkirchen-Faulueck in Schleswig Holstein to deploy VDSL in these municipalities. The network is to be completed in the third quarter of 2012, connecting around 600 households.
