News
Telekom Deutschland has officially launched the new mobile broadband service 'Call & Surf Comfort via Funk' on 05 April. It is available exclusively in around 1,500 areas across Germany currently without DSL provision. It uses LTE and HSPA technology and offers download and upload speeds of up to 3 Mbps and 500 kbps respectively. To use the service, customers need a special router - with Telekom offering an HSPA or LTE-enabled device. Both the Speedport HSPA and Speedport LTE devices have a WLAN function. Customers ordering the new service will get a SIM-card for their router. This SIM card is location-specific and does not support internet access on the move. Mobile use of LTE with a surf stick is planned and tariffs will be released shortly. The 'Call & Surf Comfort via Funk' tariff costs EUR 39.95 per month and includes an internet flat-rate and fixed-line with flat-rate for calls to the German fixed-line network. Customers must sign a minimum 24-month contract. Those ordering the product by 30 June will get a EUR 30 credit. The service is also available to business customers for EUR 33.57 (net) per month.
