TMN introduces Voice HD to all customers

Monday 1 October 2012 | 15:39 CET | News
Portuguese mobile operator TMN has launched the Voice HD service on its network, enabling customers to talk in high definition. Much of the equipment available in TMN's portfolio already supports this functionality, including the new iPhone 5. The Voice HD functionality is achieved by encoding speech in a wider frequency band, which allows more reliable and clear transmission. The difference is especially evident in environments with a lot of background noise (eg, bars, streets with heavy traffic, train stations). TMN is the first operator in Portugal to launch this function.
