Tracfone revenues climb 30.9% to over USD 1 bln in Q4

US MVNO Tracfone, a unit of America Movil, added 493,000 new subscribers in the fourth quarter, to end December with 19.8 million clients, an increase of 11.3 percent in the period. Quarterly revenues came in at USD 1.03 billion, up 30.9 percent from a year earlier. ARPU expanded 14.6 percent to USD 16. MOU jumped by 32 percent year-on-year to nearly 400 minutes per subscriber, as the operator's StraighTalk subscriber base continued to increase, the company said. EBITDA for the period was USD 77 million, up nearly 127 percent from USD 34 million in December 2010. EBITDA margin for the period lifted to 7.4 percent from 4.3 percent in the fourth quarter of 2¬010.
