Videocon to wait for Trai proposal on licences

Monday 6 February 2012 | 12:09 CET | News
Indian mobile services provider Videocon Telecommunication will wait for proposals from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India before deciding on a response to the cancellation of its licences, PTI reports. The operator is one of several that saw their licences cancelled by the Supreme Court, which found the award of the licences in 2008 flawed. "I think we have to wait for four months. Let rebidding process come. Then we have to look at Trai recommendation," Videocon Telecommunications Managing Director R N Dhoot told reporters. All 21 licences held by Videocon were affected by the decision.
