Virgin launches 'Project Lightning' in Manchester
Virgin Media announced that Manchester is the first city to benefit from 'Project Lightning', a GBP 3 billion project unveiled earlier in 2015 to expand ultrafast connectivity to 4 million premises over the next five years. As Virgin expands its network based on demand from consumers and communities registering their internet online at virginmedia.com/cablemystreet, an extra 150,000 premises in Manchester will secure first-time access to ultrafast broadband. This roll-out involves a GBP 75 million investment in the city. Virgin expects to connect more premises in neighbouring postal towns prioritised according to demand from consumers and businesses.
