Vivo to sell iPhone 5 chip from 15 September for BRL 10

Thursday 13 September 2012 | 13:25 CET | News
Brazilian mobile telephony operator Vivo has announced it will start selling the nano SIM, which is the new standard for the Apple iPhone 5, on 15 September. Measuring 12.3 x 8.8 x 0.67 mm, the nano SIM is smaller and thinner than the micro SIM, which measures 15 x 12 x 0.76 mm. The nano SIM will be sold by Vivo for BRL 10, the same price as conventional chips. By the end of September, all Vivo stores throughout Brazil will be selling the chip. Other Brazilian operators such as TIM, Claro and Oi still have to pronounce themselves on the issue.
