Vodafone Czech Republic to offer LTE on 2,100 MHz band
Vodafone Czech Republic will cover cities with LTE also using frequencies in the 2,100 MHz band. LTE on the 2,100 MHz frequencies will overlap with 3G services, which will remain in operation. The first cities will be covered by the new spectrum in mid-December. Vodafone will use for LTE a block of 10 MHz in the 2,100 MHz band, supporting a maximum theoretical download speed of 75 Mbps, which is the same data speed as for LTE on the 800 MHz band. Initially, the operator will bring LTE on the 2,100 MHz frequencies in Kladno, Olomouc and Slany in December. The coverage in all cities shall be completed by the end of the summer in 2015. To benefit from LTE, customers can use any data tarif, a LTE SIM card and a device supporting the frequency. Most mobile phones from the operator's portfolio support LTE on frequencies 800, 900, 1800, 2100 and 2600 MHz.
