Vodafone Germany expects to reach the milestone of 100,000 customers for its OTT TV service Vodafone TV, according to German newspaper Handelsblatt citing Vodafone TV director Dhananjay Mirchandani. Currently, Vodafone TV has 85,000 users and the offering will be expanded with three HD channels: Tele 5, Sixx and N24 per 1 December of this year. Vodafone TV is currently available with DSL lines, but the operator is testing TV over LTE in Duesseldorf so it can use its own LTE network that currently covers around 7.5 million households, according to Mirchandani. The commercial launch of TV over LTE is expected in 2012.
