Vodafone Germany suffers UMTS mobile data outage

Vodafone Germany has confirmed to onlinekosten.de that it is experiencing nationwide problems with its UMTS mobile data network on Friday 24 September. Areas reportedly affected by the outage include Hamburg, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe and Brandenburg. A company spokesperson told the news portal that customers were mainly having problems trying to access the internet using a smartphone or UMTS stick. Vodafone said that it had identified the problem and that all UMTS and HSDPA data services should be restored from 11.00 hours.
