Vodafone Netherlands has run out of iPhone 5 devices and so has had to temporarily halt sales, iPhoneclub reported, citing the company’s official forum. Demand has exceeded the number of devices available, with a large number of orders still waiting to be filled. Vodafone NL plans to resume sales when it has a large enough stock to satisfy demand. It will not accept any orders until that time.
The operator said it will fill existing orders as quickly as possible. Customers going to the site to order an iPhone 5 have been routed to a page offering the iPhone 4S together with a subscription.
Other operators have not disclosed if they have or have not experienced similar problems. IPhoneclub said reports about T-Mobile Netherlands show the operator is still deliveing the iPhone 5, although later than expected. According to the reports, T-Mobile NL said it will be able to deliver all the phones in week 42 or 43. Customers can still place orders but will only get the phone 3-4 weeks later.
