Vodafone UK launches home broadband, phone services

Vodafone UK has announced the launch of Vodafone Connect to provide broadband and home phone services to customers. Vodafone is investing significantly in the programme, which will create more than 400 new jobs in the South East of England and Glasgow. Vodafone's nationwide, fibre optic, business-grade network is available at speeds up to 76 Mbps and reaches exchanges which pass almost 20 million premises across the UK. This figure is set to reach around 22 million later in summer 2015. The service will be offered with the plug-and-play Vodafone Connect router and the Vodafone Connect companion mobile app. Customers can choose from Ultrafast Fibre Broadband (up to 76 Mbps), Superfast Fibre Broadband (up to 38 Mbps) or Broadband ADSL (up to 17 Mbps).

Vodafone will offer existing customers GBP 5 off the standard broadband price each month and a further discount to half price for the first 12 months. So, existing customers will pay GBP 5 per month for ADSL (GBP 2.50 a month for 12 months); GBP 15 a month for superfast fibre broadband (GBP 7.50 a month for 12 months); or GBP 20 a month for Ultrafast fibre broadband (GBP 10 a month for 12 months). All plans are offered with 18-month contracts. Vodafone Red (pay monthly mobile) customers will also get inclusive calls anytime to landlines, plus 300 free minutes to mobile numbers, with all customers getting inclusive evening and weekend calls.

Vodafone Connect will initially be offered to existing Vodafone UK customers in Manchester, Berkshire and parts of Hampshire and Surrey followed by Essex, Hertfordshire and Yorkshire in the next few weeks. It will extended to all Vodafone UK customers later in the summer. Vodafone expects to launch broadband to new customers later in 2015, but is already accepting registrations.
