Warid Congo launches messenger service

Telecommunications operator Warid Congo has launched Warid messenger service. Warid Congo customers can send and receive mobile e-mail and online chat messages on SMS-enabled handset, bypassing the need for internet access, subscriptions, smartphones, Java downloads or data connections. Warid messenger, provided by SaaS company ForgetMeNot Africa, provides users a way of accessing e-mail and chat. The service also incorporates chat services such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Windows Live and Gtalk.
