Zantel offers prepaid internet packages

Tuesday 24 August 2010 | 10:37 CET | News
Tanzania's operator Zantel has launched new prepaid internet packages. The new internet packages on Z Connect have increased capacity from 200MB to 250MB for the same cost. In addition to increasing capacity, the packages are now available on a daily, weekly and monthly subscription. For 250MB a customer can surf the web for 2 and 1/2 hours, check 250 emails and download eight four-minute songs and one four-minute video for TZS 6,000 a day, TZS 8,000 a week and TZS 10,000 a month. This is as low as TZS 24 per megabyte. To enjoy these bundles a Zantel customer needs to dial *775# from their Zantel number to select the data bundle of their choice. In addition, Zantel has reduced the cost of its modems (EC 168) from TZS 150,000 to TZS 99,9000, a 33 percent price reduction. The Zantel CDMA network is available in 20 regions around the country, both in the mainland and Zanzibar.
