Zayo joins Telx Ethernet Exchange
Wednesday 5 October 2011 | 07:51 CET |
News
US regional operator Zayo has joined interconnection and colocation data centre operator Telx's Ethernet Exchange. By joining the Telx Ethernet Exchange in Telx's located downtown Atlanta data centre, Zayo can continue to grow its 518 mile metro fibre network which connects over 250 enterprise locations and over 50 carrier pops, LSOs and data centre facilities throughout the greater Atlanta area. Zayo's interconnection with Telx will extend network reach, opening business opportunities with other wholesale buyers and sellers of Ethernet while enabling cross network QoS. Zayo's Ethernet service offering is designed as a transport alternative for traditional TDM, Sonet, ATM and Frame Relay networks. Zayo offers protected and unprotected Ethernet with multiple interface options and speeds. Zayo's Ethernet service connects its customers' LANs within the same metropolitan area or across regions using an optical fibre transport. As a Telx Ethernet Exchange member, Zayo can use a community of carriers and enterprises in the Atlanta area to establish revenue streams by expanding their network footprint.
